How does Google Drive sync work?

When you create a project, DriveBoard automatically creates a Google Sheet to store tasks and a Google Doc for detailed notes. Any changes you make in DriveBoard sync to Google Drive in real-time, and vice versa.

Is DriveBoard free to use?

Yes. DriveBoard offers a free tier with unlimited projects and tasks. Paid plans are available for advanced features like the AI assistant, MCP integration, and higher usage limits.

What is the MCP server and how do I use it?

The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets you connect AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, and VS Code Copilot directly to your DriveBoard boards. You can list, create, update, and search tasks from inside your AI client. Your data stays scoped to your account, so an AI client only sees the projects and tasks you own or have access to.

Which AI clients work with the DriveBoard MCP server?

Any MCP-compatible client works, including Claude, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, and Continue. You add your DriveBoard MCP endpoint URL to the client config as an HTTP server with a Bearer authorization header. Full setup instructions are in the MCP documentation page.

What kind of notifications does DriveBoard send?

DriveBoard sends in-app and email notifications for workspace invites, role changes, task assignments, comment mentions, and project shares. An in-app bell shows unread notifications, and you can review and manage them on the notifications page.

Can I control which notifications I receive?

Yes. Open the Settings page and use the notification preferences section to toggle each notification type on or off. You can also search for a specific preference by typing in the settings search bar.

What can the AI assistant do?

The AI assistant can triage signals into tasks, score tasks with RICE prioritization, match tasks to the right people using skill tags and capacity, and answer questions about your board in plain language. Every proposed change is confirmed with one click before it is applied.

Can I collaborate with my team?

Absolutely. You can invite team members to your workspace, assign them to tasks, share projects with specific permissions (viewer or editor), and see real-time cursors showing where collaborators are working.

Can I import from Trello or other tools?

Yes. DriveBoard supports importing boards from Trello and other project management tools. Go to the Import page and follow the instructions to migrate your existing projects.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the Settings page. This will permanently remove all your data, including workspaces, projects, and tasks. Make sure to export any important data before deleting.

Signal to task triage

Drop an email, a message, or a voice note into the Signals inbox. The AI assistant reads it, extracts the task, suggests a project, and proposes a due date. You confirm with one click, and the task lands on your board with a link back to the original signal.

RICE prioritization

Every task can be scored with the RICE framework: Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort. The AI assistant fills in the scores based on your project context, so the next action is always the highest-leverage one. You can override any score manually when you know better.

Smart assignment

The AI assistant matches tasks to the right people using skill tags, weekly capacity, and current workload. It proposes an assignee, and you confirm with one click. This takes the guesswork out of who should do what, especially in larger teams.

Conversational board

Ask the assistant a question in plain language: "what is blocked this week?" or "which tasks are overdue?" The assistant reads your board and answers with proposed actions. Every change is confirmed before it is applied, so you stay in control.

Daily limits

The free tier includes up to 5,000 AI tokens per day and up to 30 MCP calls per day. Paid plans raise this to 100,000 AI tokens per day with unlimited MCP calls. If you reach a limit, the assistant resumes after the daily reset or after a plan upgrade.

Getting started

Open any project board and click the AI button. Type a question, paste a signal, or upload a file. The assistant proposes actions, and you confirm each one. It is that simple.
